These trees by the road that silently stand,
Through the sun, through the rain, through the spring, through the smoke,
Hardly do we notice their message,
A message they voice through their silence, through their service.
Yet some while they choose to voice,
To the once who failed to hear their words,
A song so over flowing with beauty and glory,
A sight that fills over hearts with ecstasy.
A speech by beauty, a speech by vision,
A speech by service, a speech by blessing,
A speech by silence, a speech without words,
Yet a speech so profound, and so much not to miss.
There is a group of them, who work together,
to put on a show and make themselves visible,
the stunning sight of the yellow flowers,
that blooms in time, and in perfect harmony.
Shedding the leaves and shedding all of them,
Getting rid of the greens and dressing in yellow,
Just for the season, just for the occasion,
Just for a few days and just for a good glance.
They swing and dance in the wind so joyfully,
Decorating the sky and embedding the way below,
Greeting all with showers of flowers,
the perfect blossom, the sight of a lifetime.
Overflowing hearts with a celebration so contagious,
The sparrows and cuckoo and bees and squirrels,
The bull bulls and peckers, the hornbills and parrots,
The invited guest of honor for the occasion,
The yellows have given way to fresh green,
Another shade of life so brilliant,
A shade of coolness, a shade of prosperity,
Greeting the day, the youth, the wilderness
Passing days, passing winds, passing sights as time goes by,
Fading so slowly and flaking the glory,
The celebration over, the display complete,
There they go, in to the background from vanguard.
Another year to wait to see them,
Back in their glory and back in the colors,
Fallen flowers that give way to the fresh leaves,
The fresh leaves turn to become the old leaves
And there the stand to wave the travelers,
Hardly noticed, their messages unheard,
Service and patience their motto their goodwill,
A lifetime of numbness and silence they go through.
